Membership Eligibility & How to Join
Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union is a community-chartered credit union, offering multiple ways to qualify for membership. If you live, work, worship, or attend school in Vanderburgh or Warrick Counties—or have an immediate family member who does—you’re eligible to join.
Additionally, membership extends to:
- Spouses of individuals who passed away while within the credit union’s field of membership
- Employees of Diamond Valley FCU
- Retired pensioners or annuitants from qualifying employment
- Volunteers
- Immediate family members or household members
- Organizations comprised of eligible individuals
- Corporate or legal entities within this charter
What Defines Immediate Family and Household?
- Immediate family includes spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild, as well as stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, and adoptive relationships.
- Household refers to individuals living in the same residence while maintaining a single economic unit.

Understanding Membership Eligibility
- If you belong to the immediate family or household of a credit union member, you can join—even if the primary member hasn’t.
- However, an eligible family or household member must first enroll before extending membership to their immediate family members.
- Credit unions may adopt a more restrictive definition of immediate family or household.
- Volunteers closely tied to a sponsor group, such as hospital or church volunteers, may also qualify for membership.
