Celebrate International Credit Union Day 2022

On October 20, 2022, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day^®, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. This year marks the 74th anniversary. In honor of this special day, Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union invites its members and the entire community to celebrate with us!

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union and financial cooperative difference.

This year’s theme is “Empower Your Financial Future with a Credit Union™.”

On October 20^th, our branches will have snacks and Diamond Valley giveaways (available while supplies last) from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Staff will be on hand to talk about the services Diamond Valley offers to help empower our members’ financial future.

In addition to celebrating the credit union movement, we will also celebrate the opening of our NEW Diamond Avenue branch, located at 691 Diamond Avenue (at the intersection of Diamond Avenue and Stringtown Road.), replacing our previous branch on Diamond Avenue after 54 years.  

The new location of the Diamond Avenue branch offers easier access and enhanced services for those residing in the Jacobsville area, including the addition of two more Drive-Up lanes and Security Deposit Boxes!

99.5 WKDQ, KISS 106, 104.1 WIKY, and HOT96 will be broadcasting live on site throughout the day. Stop by to spin the prize wheel and learn about the many ways we give back to the community and empower your financial future.

Diamond Valley will also host a coloring contest for kids up to 10 years of age. Coloring sheets are available at Diamond Valley branches and available for download (download link below). The winner will be selected to receive a $25 deposit to their DIVY Youth Account. Coloring contest entries are due back by October 20^th with a winner announced the next day. 

There are still 1.4 billion people across the globe who are unbanked. Credit unions truly have the perfect business model to empower their financial future and that is a message they hope the entire global movement will celebrate and promote on Thursday, October 20.
